For years now I kept stashed in a dresser drawer the beautiful greeting cards I received for my wedding. Each card is a memento of my special day so I couldn't bring myself to part with them. Finally I took them out of the drawer and decided to turn them into a "mini album".
I made the covers and stitched the the whole thing together with beads embellishing the exposed spine. I used the stitching method from my tutorial for the Beaded Scrapbook Mini Album.
I'm super happy with how this project turned out!! Here is a video and a few photos of my "album".
I attached a beautiful pull-out card on the front cover and added ribbon flowers on the front of the card.
Every time I finish an album I'm left with pieces of scrap paper that I hate to throw out. In the video tutorial below, I show you a great way to recycle those scraps in the form of paper roses. I found the instructions and templates on the Michaels website. They don't have a video posted to their website so I thought I'd go ahead and make one.
I use these at lot on my mini albums. What I like best is that I can create roses that coordinate perfectly with my projects.
If you're really ambitious, you can even go as far as gathering up those really small strips that can't be used for anything else and making your own paper. You can go from:

If you want to learn how to make your own handmade paper, YouTube channel "epicfantasy" has a wonderful tutorial that's easy to follow. You can view it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyr24PgpDDs.
But today I'm just going to use some regular scraps of paper to make the rose on the right. Two-sided cardstock is best. You can use regular paper but it is more prone to tearing. If the back of your paper is white you can stamp ink across the back so the white isn't visible underneath the flower.
In
my tutorial, I show you how to create my new album design for the "fold-out folio" mini album as shown on in the photo on the left. The album is made of 4 sections that unfold, then each section has its own set of pages that unfold. Each album can hold up to 40 photos on the inside pages, plus
more photos on the waterfall. You can put 40 full sized 4x6" photos in
the 7x5 album WITHOUT any bulging when the album is closed.
Because they can hold so many photos in one compact space, these make great
themed albums: baby shower, school, graduation, wedding, Christening, special birthdays, vacations, all of the family get-togethers...
The tutorial is in PDF format and contains 37 pages of extremely detailed step-by-step instructions from start to finish with lots of photos I took as I was creating the album. Measurements are included for each piece you will need to construct the albums

in addition to the written tutorial, I'm including free links to my series of unlisted ONLINE VIDEOS that show how to make the album as I create a brand new one from start to finish.
The 7x5 album pictured at the top ("Paradise") is the album I constructed as I was writing the tutorial. It is made
with the Surf's Up paper stack by Recollections. In the videos, I make the pink album with the Baby Girl stack by DCWV. You could use any paper you want to customize your
album. I give instructions to make the albums in two sizes: the 7"x5" and the 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" (also seen in the photo above).
You can refer to the videos anytime as I plan to leave them online for as long as the service provider can host them. Below is a video that shows the completed albums, as well as additional photos further below.

In
my tutorial, I show you how to create a scrapbook album like the one pictured on
the left. It's made with the Primrose cardstock stack by DCWV and other papers I had in my stash. You could use any
paper you want to customize your album. The album covers measure 8 x 6-1/2
inches and the inside pages measure 7-1/2" x 5-1/2" inches. There are 16 pages, 8 fold-out flaps and 8 large tags. The pages are stitched together and beads are added to the exposed spine.
The tutorial is in PDF format and contains 35 pages of EXTREMELY DETAILED step-by-step instructions from start to finish with lots of photos I took as I was creating the album:making the pages, flaps and tags, making
the covers, stitching the pages together and adding beads to the exposed spine, making the
closure and ideas for embellishing with your own
supplies. Measurements are included for every page, flap, pocket and tag you will need to construct this exact album.

In my tutorial, I show you how to create my 8x8 Interactive Scrapbook Mini Album.
The album covers measure 9x9 inches and the inside pages measure 8x8 inches. It's very interactive with flaps, pull-outs and pockets and there is lots of room for photos. The thick 3" spine means you have tons of space for embellishments too! You can interchange some of the interactive elements on the pages to vary your album designs and use any paper you want to customize your album.
The tutorial is in PDF format and contains approximately 50 pages of EXTREMELY DETAILED step-by-step instructions from start to finish and 200 PHOTOS I took as I was creating the album: making the
interactive pages, making the covers and spine, binding the pages into
the album, making the closure and ideas for embellishing the cover and
spine with your own supplies. Measurements are included for every page,
flap, pocket, tag, etc. you will need to construct this exact album.
