How to remove die cuts from intricate Spellbinders dies without tearing the paper

I recently bought a Bigshot so I'm still a newbie. The first time I tried cutting with my newly acquired Spellbinders die "Labels 42", my paper would stay stuck in the intricate shapes especially in the corners and would tear while trying to take it out. My paper was good quality, so how disappointing was that!

I read somewhere that placing waxed paper between your paper and die solves the problem - the design pops right out! So I decided to give it a try... and it works!

This is probably old news to experienced die cutters, but I was so thrilled I decided to post a video for other newbies like me :-)

FREE Tutorial - Vintage Scrapbook Layout

Sometimes the hardest part of scrapbooking is staring at a blank 12x12 piece of cardstock and deciding where to place and how to layer your embellishments. This vintage layout is elegant and so easy to make!  In this written tutorial (sorry no videos on this one!), I show you step-by-step how to create the vintage layout in the photo. This is one of my favourite vintage themed scrapbook pages that I designed and sold in my online shops in the past.

The instructions include lots of photos that show how to layer and place papers and embellishments. You may use embellishments you already have in your stash.  As you work through the instructions for this layout, I indicate measurements and also provide tips to help make things easy.

And if you want to make the large beaded lace flowers shown in this layout, check out my tutorial at www.scrappinrabbit.com/2013/05/how-to-make-flowers-out-of-lace.html

Once you've completed this layout, you'll be able to make more in no time. Below are two more layouts I made based on the same tutorial. Feel free to ask questions or send me your comments.

Its time for a tea party!

I finally finished a scrapbook mini album I started a few months ago. Sometimes the ideas jump around my head and I don't have time to finish one project that I start another. That's what happened with my Tea Party mini album that I just completed this morning.
I used lace on the front cover and made my own bling swirl using a die-cut and strands of clear crystals. Below is a video I posted to my YouTube channel.

Now on to those other projets I need to finish...
