In this tutorial, I show you how to create my most interactive style of mini album with "repositionable photo mats".
The album contains many tags and pockets, but what's special about it is the end user can decide whether to position full-size 4" x 6" photos vertically or horizontally, making this a truly versatile album. The album has 3 large removable waterfalls that can be repositioned, rotating pockets and swingtabs.
The album covers measure 9-1/4”w by 9”h with a 3” spine. There are 5 two-sided base pages for a total of 10 pages each measuring 8-1/2"w x 8-1/2"h. The paper stack I used to make this album is titled “Meadow by Susan Winget” (K&Company), but any papers can be used. It has a chain closure and fabric-covered spine.
The tutorial is in PDF format and contains 56 pages of extremely detailed step-by-step instructions with about 280 photos that show how I created the album from start to finish. You will learn how to create each of the interactive pages, how make the covers and spine, how to bind the pages into the album, how to make the chain closure and how I embellished the album. Measurements are included for each piece you will need to construct the album including the binding, covers and spine.
Below is a video that describes the album and the tutorial as well as some more photos of the interactive pages.
