Every time I finish an album I'm left with pieces of scrap paper that I hate to throw out. In the video tutorial below, I show you a great way to recycle those scraps in the form of paper roses. I found the instructions and templates on the Michaels website. They don't have a video posted to their website so I thought I'd go ahead and make one.

If you want to learn how to make your own handmade paper, YouTube channel "epicfantasy" has a wonderful tutorial that's easy to follow. You can view it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyr24PgpDDs.
But today I'm just going to use some regular scraps of paper to make the rose on the right. Two-sided cardstock is best. You can use regular paper but it is more prone to tearing. If the back of your paper is white you can stamp ink across the back so the white isn't visible underneath the flower.

The written instructions and templates can be downloaded from the Michaels website (the templates are at the bottom of the page): http://canada.michaels.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-MichaelsCanada-Site/default/Product-Show?pid=C_34997. The template is in Microsoft Word format. If you can't open the file, send me an email at email@example.com and I'll be happy to send you the file I converted to PDF format.
I hope you enjoy making these flowers!
